
Ligue de l’Enseignement (La Ligue) is a movement in France with a history of more than 150 years. It aims to guarantee access to education for everyone and further promotes a secular society, solidarity among citizens and active citizenship. Laîcité (humanism and secularism). The movement defends a republican idea, based on equality of rights; facing transformation of French society into a multicultural society.
La Ligue de l’Enseignement Nouvelle Aquitaine (LENA) is a regional union of 12 federations. It was created in 2017 after the fusion between the regions Aquitaine, Poitou-Charentes and Limousin (policy in France). LENA is a member of La Ligue de l’Enseignement (national).
The members of the union share the aims of:
- Training responsible citizens
- Fighting against all inequalities
- Building a fairer and more independent society
LENA is involved in many fields of permanent education that allow democratic progress and the full exercise of citizenship: cultural action, audio-visual, communication, outdoor activities and sports, holidays and tourism, social leisure, educational action in schools and families, economic information, scientific and digital activities, vocational training, European and international action, the environment.
LENA is composed of 4 departments
- Professional Training: For job seekers, NEETS, Migrants, etc. in different fields: hotel industry, tourism, retraining and professional integration,
- Cultural activities for all ages: mobile cinema, festivals, artistic and cultural education,
- Holidays camps & Leaders training: Camps for young people, training and certifications BAFA/BAFD
- Regional activities: - Youth education, empowerment, volunteering, youth training, digital learning, European projects.
