May 2025

At SCF, integrating the DigComp 2.2 framework into our organizational practices is a long-term goal. The two workshops organized in May 2025 marked our first structured attempt to do so. Designed within the context of the Erasmus+ DigCompAE project and aligned with the objectives of the National GOL Plan, this workshop represented more than just a training session: it was a starting point for rethinking how we, as an organization, approach digital competence in adult education.

The aim was not to provide definitive answers or final tools, but to begin a process of exploration: testing methods, collecting feedback, and sparking internal discussion. Specifically, we focused on vulnerable target groups, where the development of citizenship and digital skills is a prerequisite for future upskilling and employability.

The workshop helped educators familiarize themselves with DigComp not as a static framework, but as a flexible tool that can support personalized teaching. Through a guided, step-by-step process, trainers learned how to select relevant competences, build simple assessment tools, and reflect on how these tools might fit into their daily practice. The creation of sample tools and lesson plans was not intended to produce polished materials, but to test ideas and spark critical thinking.

By involving educators in the co-construction of tools and methodologies, we began building a common language and shared understanding of what it means to “implement DigComp” in practice. The collaborative activities allowed space for experimentation and comparison, essential elements for any successful organizational change.

As our first real attempt to move from theory to practice, the workshop provided valuable insights into what works, what needs refining, and how we might scale this approach across our network. Most importantly, it laid the foundation for a longer-term strategy: to turn DigComp from a reference document into a living part of SCF’s educational ecosystem.

This was just the beginning!
