May 2025

In early May 2025, over 50 VET trainers from across Italy—representing the regions of Emilia Romagna, Veneto, and Friuli Venezia Giulia—came together online to kick off a training journey into the DigComp 2.2 framework. These first two sessions, held on May 6th and 8th, served as an engaging introduction to the structure, language, and core concepts of the framework.

Designed as the foundation of a broader training course, the workshops offered a space for participants to build a shared understanding of DigComp 2.2’s theoretical underpinnings. Through interactive discussions and collaborative reflection, trainers explored how digital competences can be framed, described, and assessed—laying the groundwork for practical application in the coming weeks.

At the conclusion of the introductory phase, participants were divided into three groups—SCF, Cefal, and Consorzio OPEN—based on their target audiences. This segmentation sets the stage for tailored, hands-on sessions to follow, ensuring each organization can adapt DigComp 2.2 to fit its specific educational and social context.

These initial workshops not only sparked curiosity and conversation, but also marked a crucial first step in helping VET organizations translate theory into practice—and digital competence into real-world impact.
